Meet Ruth Cline MD, an Atlanta native with a passion for helping women
Ruth Cline MD joined Athens Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1995. She attended the Georgia Institute of Technology for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She then completed her medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Before becoming an Athens obgyn, she trained at Emory University in Obstetrics and Gynecology, where she served as the chief administrative resident.
Ruth Cline MD is a leader in women’s healthcare
In Athens, Ruth Cline MD has served in medical staff leadership positions at St Mary’s Hospital as the department chief, the president of the medical staff and a member of the St Mary’s Hospital Board.
Currently, this Athens obgyn enjoys assisting with undergraduate medical education at the Athens campus of the Medical Partnership of MCG and mentoring premedical students by facilitating the UGA Premed Honors UGA Book Club.
Ruth Cline MD also stays active in professional organizations as a past president of the Georgia OB/GYN Society and an ACOG Georgia Representative. She has been committed to establishing the Georgia OB/GYN Foundation to promote access and support for women’s healthcare throughout the state of Georgia. She is also looking forward to serving as the ACOG District IV vice chair for the Georgia Section starting in 2018.
Keeping busy in her spare time
As an Atlanta native, Ruth Cline MD really enjoys the Athens community and small-town life. In her time away from the office, she stays busy picking blueberries on her Madison County farm, watching UGA and GT sports, skiing, dining at Athens restaurants, running, traveling and fly fishing. She also loves spending time with her husband, teenage sons and fur daughter.
